ARRI SIGNATURE PRIMES

While the Signature Primes exemplify state-of-the-art optical precision, they have been designed to render organic, emotionally engaging images, gently softening and texturizing the large format with natural skin tones and creamy bokeh. A fast T-stop of T1.8 facilitates shallow depth of field and the smooth focus fall-off gives subjects heightened presence in the frame. These lenses feature a native LPL mount.

TRIBE7 LENSES

Blackwing7 lens tuning allows parameters such as sharpness, contrast, focus roll-off, spherical aberration, field curvature, edge halation and flare to be modified to provide sets of “curated” optics to suit the personality and style of the cinematographer.

Many of the design cues for Blackwing7 primes originate in optics manufactured during the 1930 – 1960s. There are three basic lens options: S (Standard), T (Transient) and X (eXpressive). The optics on our T-set are single coated to suit a 1950s style, and are tuned with a higher degree of Blackwing7 pupil flare (most notably on 37mm, 57mm and 77mm focal lengths).

CANON K35 PRIMES

Rehoused by Zero Optik

 

Now available with Zero Optik rehousing featuring unified gear placement, cooke-style focus cams, 95mm front diameter, and improved close focus.

The K-35 lenses were manufactured by Canon during the 1970's and 80's and won an Academy Award in 1976. These lenses were used on many large sets such as “Alien”(1986), “American Hustle” (2013), and "Her" (2013).

The high-speed optical design of the K-35 series is a perfect example of Canon’s optical expertise and fine lens design. The K-35 primes have slightly less contrast compared to modern lenses but the standout feature is the unique ability to cover full frame sensors (excluding the 18mm).

LEICA R PRIMES - EF Mount

Originally developed for the Leicaflex SLR line, these still lenses often fell short of appreciation due to their infamous M mount counterparts. Now with the advent of digital cinematography these once overlooked gems have found new appreciation.

Currently available in EF mount as they await rehousing, the Leica Rs are perfect for travel, or gimbal work where you need a compact build, but can’t afford to sacrifice quality.

This set of 6 primes offers several advantages over others; fantastic close focus, a light-weight and small form factor, and the distinct Leica image rendition.

KOWA-R FF

Despite the well known ‘Kowa’ name, these lenses are a rather unique set. The donor glass was originally designed for the Kowa SET-R cameras between 1968-1974. Not many sets were made, and even fewer are available today. Each lens has a sharp center, with pleasing falloff and vignetting. Bold eyelash flares with purple and gold caustics, with warm skin tones make them a great choice for portraiture.

Here the optics have been rehoused by TLS giving them new life. Consistent 110mm front diameters, 14 blade irises, and standard 0.8mm gearing make them a joy to use on set.

ZEISS SUPREME PRIMES

All the lenses across the Supreme family cover full frame and have a large image circle of 46.2mm. They are color matched across the full range and feature a fast T-stop of T1.5. The small front diameter of 95mm on all lenses and standardized positioning of the focus and iris rings facilitate fast and easy lens changes. The ultra-smooth focus rotation of the Supreme Prime lenses even in extreme temperatures allows for small motors to make sure you have an easy setup that’s enjoyable to work with. A very smooth transition between in-focus and out of focus areas characterize the unique look of the ZEISS Supreme Prime lenses. This adds richer texture and greater depth to the image.

NIKON AI-S PRIMES

Rehoused by Zero Optik

Introduced in 1982, the Nikkor AI-S lenses were Nikon's last fully-manual lenses before auto focus became standard. These vintage Nikon primes have been rehoused by Zero Optik and feature 95mm fronts and a cam-driven focus system for silky focus control. The iris has been upgraded to 16 blades for buttery smooth, circular, bokeh. These primes are characterized by their unique flares, brilliant colors, natural contrast, and a subtle, beautiful, veil wide open.

TOKINA VISTA ONE

The Vista One lenses are a new limited release version of the Vista Prime lenses featuring a new single coated front element and gray lens barrel aesthetic. The single coating allows for a reduction in contrast and increase in lens flare when off-axis lighting is used. These lenses have an extremely large image circle for full-frame coverage, little to no chromatic aberration, and minimal breathing. All primes have a super fast T-stop of T1.5

PROBE AND SPECIALTY LENSES

 

+Laowa 12mm T2.9 ZERO-D PL Lens

The PL mount Laowa 12mm T2.9 Zero-D Cine Lens provides a wide angle of view and it is optimized for digital cinematography. Its lightweight and compact design can be used not only with handheld shooting, it is also light enough for use on gimbals. The lens produces an image circle that will cover full-frame, VistaVision, and ARRI ALEXA LF sized sensors or smaller. Check out our lens test video here.

+Laowa 24mm PL Probe Lens

This probe lens focuses from 2:1 macro to infinity and with a compelling wide angle ‘Bug Eye’ perspective. The wide angle design means much greater depth of field at close distances than possible with conventional telephoto macro lens, so more background details can now be seen. The front barrel of the lens is waterproof and an LED ring light is mounted at the tip of the lens. It can cover both full frame & Super35 image sensors and is super lightweight to carry. This "cine-mod" version of the lens has been optimized for video use and features integrated gears on both the aperture and focus rings for doing iris and focus pulls using a follow focus.

+LENS BABY 3G 50MM PL

The Lensbaby is a hybrid between a bellows camera and a tilt-shift camera. The lens can be compressed, extended, and/or bent off-center in any direction for different effect. It will add a unique perspective on the world that is a radical departure from the precision of digital or even film photography. Effects like blurring, glowing highlights, and subtle, prismatic color distortions can all be achieved without software manipulations. The lens aperture can be changed by inserting different size magnetic aperture discs, with a choice of f/2, 2.8, 4, 5.6, 8, 11, 16, and 22. The lens baby covers FF sensors.

+IBE LPL 2x Extender

The LPLx2 VV mounts directly to native LPL mount lenses and cameras and has a recommended maximum input T-stop of 1.9. Two stops of light loss.

+DUCLOS 1.7x Expander

A brand new array of optics designed from the ground up, the Duclos 1.7x Expander effectively increases the image circle of the taking lens, providing a narrower field of view while maintaining the highest level of image quality. 1.5 stops of light loss. *Note: Not all lenses are compatible.

+Century PL 2x Extender

Covers 36x24mm FF sensor. 2-stops light loss.

+Kipon Baveyes LPL Mamiya 645 Adapter

This high quality adapter lets you mount Mamiya 645 medium format lenses on any LPL mount camera. It acts as a "speedbooster" by increasing the field of view of the lens by .7x with a gain of 1 stop. Its features multi coated glass elements made by IBE in Germany.
